I don’t know who started the trend of wearing rings, but my heartfelt thanks to him/her. I have loved wearing rings since I was a little girl. I remember the thrill when a Christmas cracker often ejected one. They were measly plastic ones in orange and green, but they made me happy! I loved stones on rings too. I even had a classmate get me a plastic emerald look-alike from her uncle's shop for two rupees. As soon as I was grown enough to collect girlie trinkets, I zeroed in on many finger-huggers. Here is flaunting them. A white ring goes a long way. It can add that elegance to an empty hand, which you have often seen on your mother or grandmother, and have always sought. I never forget to wear it whenever I wear white. This is another white monster with a more chic quality. It has turned a few heads in parties for me, especially when paired with stark white saris and a string of pearls. I had been looking for a purple ring. I am not sure I wanted an elephant, and the circular shape is not my style either. I did get compliments for it though. That's the only reason it qualified for this post. I am not particularly fond of the roundishness of the design, but then I had to have a black ring on my list. It came with similar ear-studs, a pendant, and a bracelet. They are nice for all my elegant black not-so-loud party wear. This one is a fire-setter for an empty hand; every girl should have one just to throw some attitude around. Just remember to keep your wrist empty, so that you don't look overdone. Its sheer size catches the eye, rivets the head. And the colour is a rare one too. I think this is what a cocktail ring is. Someone had given this to my mother as a gift from the US years ago. I know it's just bauble, but I had my eye on it. I fell in love with the asymmetry of the design as soon as I saw it. This is perfect for my pink pearl drops. I know the design is common, but the three coloured pearls, pink, white, and grey, make it easy to mix and match. This one is great for a tom-boyish look, when you are roughing it out in army-green tees and cargoes. Sometimes, I wear it as a pendant with some twine. Another cocktail ring for an elegant evening. Its for all my greens. I am looking for a pair of ear studs in a similar colour. The unusual shape gives this ring a playfulness and I love the tiny red stone on the slipper. I have often teamed it with long skirts and heavy-stoned necklaces. The price was a steal in Bangalore too. I love the sheen on the matted metal of this one. It goes well with a muted look of greys and sap greens. Incidentally, my hubby had bought one in his size, which he never wore. So I use his as a pendant. I always think I was fleeced on this one. Though the lustre has lasted some seven years now, owing to some rhodium plating or some such. It's great for impressing a few eyes and photographs well too. I like to call this an amethyst, though it's unlikely to be true. The price is too cheap for an amethyst and too pricey for just a silver ring with stones. Suffice it to say, I was fleeced! Having said that, I love this piece. The colour, the white-stone studded shoulders, the whole thing transforms my hand into an elegant woman's manicured manos. Well, this has been satisfying. Yeah, I am a big show off! Hey! But this is fashionbaazi!

Yeah, I know you love rings. I think you have some pretty wild and pretty ones yourself. And I remember that incident. It wasn't 'unconscious', it was 'dead'!!! :-)
